Caterpillar farm tractors
Caterpillar is a Fortune 100 company and the world's largest manufacturer of construction equipment. The company is a behemoth with over $77 billion in assets and over 100,000 employees, as well as several subsidiaries, including Perkins and Turbomach SA. The company was founded by C.L. Best more than 90 years ago and presently operates from its headquarters located in Illinois. Caterpillar tractor production began in 1925 with the merger of two companies, Holt and Best. During the first half of the previous century, the company was heavily invested in the agriculture equipment industry, but as time passed, its focus shifted to the manufacturing of construction equipment. Caterpillar also had the rubber-tracked Challenger tractor brand, which was eventually sold to AGCO in 2002. During its operation, the company provided customers with a total of 43 tractor models ranging in power from 15 to 320 horsepower. This wide range of power signifies the company's attempt to meet the needs of all types of customers. Some of the well-known tractor models manufactured by Caterpillar included but were not limited to RD4, RD7 and RD8.
