Gravely farm tractors
Gravely is a tractor manufacturer based in the United States that specializes in producing high-quality lawn tractors and garden tools. The company was founded in 1916 and has since established itself as a brand in this industry. Benjamin Franklin Gravely, the company's founder, began with a hand-pushed plough powered by a motorcycle engine. He wanted to create a simple, low-cost product that anyone interested in maintaining his lawn could easily afford. Gravely's first products were two-wheel tractors and walk-behinds. With the experience gained from these products, Gravely ventured into the production of commercial tractors, which were manufactured in a factory that previously produced tires. During the first few years of production, the company went above and beyond by offering farmers delivery services and charging $175 per tractor. This aided the company in developing a strong clientele, which resulted in healthy sales figures. Gravely was able to survive even during the Great Depression because of this. The company produced its last two-wheeled tractor in 2004, after which it diversified its line of business and continues to produce other garden maintenance related items; however, the tractor production for which the company became renowned was halted nearly two decades ago.
