With around 900 employees working for IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation, it is one of the main suppliers of Japanese tractors and engines. The company’s first tractor rolled out of its factory in 1951. 1973 was an important year for this brand when it entered an agreement with Ford to produce the Ford 1000 tractor model. These tractors were manufactured according to the design and specifications provided by Ford to IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation. The venture became so successful that a couple of other tractor models were also offered by the companies while working together. Besides this, the agreement remained intact even after Ford had acquired New Holland. Another distinguishing feature of IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation is that it produces Stihl equipment and Yanmar tractors which are huge brands in themselves offering handsome revenues to the company. During the years of its operation, IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation offered a total of 94 tractor models to customers that had powers ranging between 11 and 105 horsepower.
