Shaktimaan farm tractors
Shaktimaan was a subsidiary of Mahindra Gujarat which in itself is a part of the Mahindra group that offers a wide array of products to its customers. Gujarat Tractor Corporation used to be an Indian government-funded project that was aimed at addressing the needs of the locals with relatively low-cost machines. However, after Mahindra acquired the company, it was rebranded to Mahindra Gujarat in order to differentiate these products from its primary line of tractors that were sold under the brand name of Mahindra. These machines could not compete in their size and might with the products of major global players. In addition to this, another factor that restricted the company from gaining access to a large number of customers was the relatively low build quality which seemed far inferior when compared with the imported alternatives. With only two tractor models known as 30 and 35, Shaktimaan was a small part of the greater Mahindra project. These machines were equipped with 30 and 35 HP engines respectively and could thus only address the needs of local farmers with minimal requirements.
